SEER savings calculator.

A higher‑SEER air conditioner sips electricity instead of gulping it. Compare your current unit to a new one and see the energy savings — per year, and over 20 years. Drag the sliders to match your setup.

How it's figured. A unit's power draw ≈ capacity ÷ SEER, so annual cost = (tons × 12,000 ÷ SEER) × hours ÷ 1,000 × your rate. The savings is the gap between your old and new units. Bigger isn't automatically better: an oversized AC short‑cycles — it cools fast but never runs long enough to pull humidity out, leaving the house cool but muggy while wearing the compressor out early. Match size to the home, then chase efficiency.
